Fine condition
| Classic early Ming underwater scene. The
interior shows a single shrimp surrounded by four sprigs of eel-grass, a
branch of stonewort, a water-chestnut grouping, and a single sprig
of duckweed. A classic scroll borders the lip.
The exterior shows three shrimp divided
by the same water plants as the interior. Early Ming, and quite possibly
from the Interregnum
period. |

| Note:
|
This style of classic scroll border, as
well as that of the earlier Yuan dynasty, is of a simpler form.
Later reigns seemed to crowd the design with a much more compact version
versus the delicate, open, almost calligraphic style seen
here. |
